Here’s a specific technique I recommend when raising fruit trees.
And it frustrates the heck outta most gardeners.
(that is, until they adopt a “Flame Keeper” mentality.)
Here’s the gut-wrenching, counter-intuitive technique I have everyone doing:
Assuming you’ve amended the soil, planted properly, and watered wisely- your fruit tree will start to produce fruits (depending on variety) in the first 2 to 5 years.
Can you guess the BEST thing you could possibly do with these delicious fruits you’ve waited so long for?
Eat them?
No.
As soon as the flowers drop and the fruits set, and your primitive brain sends the age-old signal to your mouth to start watering…
You pluck ’em right off!
And you dutifully compost them.
“Wait, James. I don’t get to enjoy the fruits of all my labor (and waiting)?”
Yes. But not yet.
It’s a practice in anti-instant-gratification.
And it has a valuable Purpose.
By removing the fruits as they start to set, you deliver a service to the tree.
Instead of spending all that young spry energy on fruit production, the tree channels its energy DOWN into its ROOTS and leaves.
It becomes even stronger, more resilient, and more ready to produce higher quality fruits (and seeds) in later years.
You’ll do this utterly frustrating, and completely heart-breaking practice for at least the first 2 years of growth.
This is why as a Flame Keeper you must practice “anti-instant-gratification”.
It’s one of the many “Old Ways” we practice.
Of course, I’m talking about ways of working with Nature to produce abundance long LONG before the time when you could order Chicken Tikka Masala from PooperEats on your iPhone.
The ways of thinking BEYOND YOURSELF.
Forward, to your future self, and those who will come to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Yeah, it’s a bummer.
Especially when you can go to any store and buy anything you need in a blink of an eye – or, whip out a smart phone and have almost anything you need on Earth delivered right to your doorstep without speaking a single word to another human.
What a brave new world we live in, indeed.
That’s why my Flame Keeper’s Abundance Code training and my students who apply it are practically cult-like in their determination to live in accordance with this most certainly more difficult, yet infinitely more rewarding way of life.
Because clearly:
Only someone “crazy” would go through this much trouble to eat nutrient-dense foods and in the process – be saving and preserving the world for future generations.
If you’d like to discover more about tree care, and living the “Old Ways” every day on your property, and in your backyard…
And you’d like connecting with Nature to produce abundance in your life and for your loved ones.
Then you’ll dig the Flame Keepers Abundance Code.
Discover my anti-instant gratification ways to produce abundance on autopilot.
Keep growing,
James~
