Last night I made a mistake…
I clicked “play” on a Leonardo DaVinci documentary.
BIG mistake.
30 minutes in, I forced myself to pause it because my brain was buzzing with ideas.
If I kept watching, I’d be up until 4 AM writing backwards and drawing gardening machines.
Sarah would have killed me.
Anyway, here’s what hooked me:
DaVinci grew up on his grandfather’s farm.
So, Nature was actually his first teacher.
While other kids studied dusty Greek philosophy books…
Leo studied leaves.
He watched water flow.
He examined bird wings.
He believed real wisdom came from Nature itself…
Not from dead guys in togas.
The man painted the Mona Lisa AND designed the first flying machines.
He studied human anatomy AND created incredible gardens.
His curiosity for the way things worked was unstoppable.
And he always looked back to Nature to inspire ALL his works.
That’s when it hit me like a truckload of organic compost.
Sometimes I feel like The DaVinci of Gardening.
Don’t get me wrong here.
I am NOT comparing my brain to one of the greatest geniuses who ever lived.
But I can relate.
I can’t stop studying plants.
I literally have dreams about soil biology.
(Wow, what a dork, right?)
I wake up with ideas for better compost methods.
And I’m always trying to crack Nature’s Codes for more abundance, more growth, and more garden joy.
My family thinks I’m “too obsessed”.
They’re probably right.
While other gardeners follow the same old, boring methods (and wonder why they get boring results)…
I’m testing.
I’m experimenting.
I’m out playing with Nature.
I’m working on breakthrough techniques that make plants grow like crazy, not just so my students can get more JOY out of gardening…
…But because I don’t know what else I’d do with my life.
I think it’s just why God put me here.
The good news is you don’t have to be a Gardening Mad Scientist like me.
You don’t have to stay up til 4am sketching gardens.
I’m doing all that “work” for you.
You just get to be along for the ride.
And I’m glad you’re with me on the journey.
Keep growing,
James~
P.S. Speaking of garden breakthroughs…
I’m pretty excited about my newest innovation: Soil Rescue.
It turns any soil into “Super Soil” in DAYS (not years).
Here’s the comparison of two gardens
(you can guess which one gets the good stuff).
