Come build this chicken coop!

Next week I will be leading an Earthship style building workshop here in Boulder. We will build a rad looking chicken coop out of bottles, cans, and tires using some of the skills I learned at Earthship Biotecture in Taos NM. If you or anyone you know is interested in having the best free eggs every single day in your own backyard or interested in building beautiful structures out of garbage come to this workshop!

Please visit www.earthshipcolorado.com to sign up!

  2. This chicken coup looks awesome!! We did a workshop I. San Miguel Mexico with Hagar Gibran on building with aircrete. The dome we helped build there looks similar to your chicken coup design. So cool. I am looking forward to learning more if your work. We are presently experimenting with hydro and aquaponics. Having fun!

    1. Hey Maria, that’s awesome! You probably know my friend Kari who helped facilitate that same workshop (or one of the builds anyway)… Oh, and I also might have helped write some emails to promote that same workshop 😉 glad you attended!

  3. Thank you for posting all of the great info. Right now, I am into canning, dehydrating, vacuum packing, and freezing anything to its limit to giving me some learning and working time. In addition to methods listed above, I am learning to glass eggs, building a smoke house, out door showers with solar heated restrooms with composting toilets and solar heated water and lights. I am composting everything I can that is healthy for earthworms and other helpful soil enhancing materials. Any helpful suggestions, drawings on smokehouse and outdoor restroom would be greatly appreciated. I am not closed minded on learning all survival skills. Betty Dworaczyk, Pecan Island, Louisiana
